Complimentary Urns

Our primary complimentary urn is a scattering tube designed to allow families to scatter their pet’s ashes or to serve as a traditional urn that can be kept as a memorial or buried in the desired location. (Included in cremation fee.)

Scattering tubes are designed and engineered to simplify the scattering process. The tubes are durable, dignified and simple to use. Each features a convenient removable lid and an industry-first, perforated “push in” tab that opens easily prior to scattering. They are primarily produced from recycled content, contain no metal or plastic components and can be recycled or composted after use. These scattering tubes are suitable for “in-cabin” airline transportation. If multiple family members wish to participate in the scattering ceremony, even in multiple locations, the cremated remains can be separated and placed into multiple tubes to allow for that option. Additional scattering tubes are available for $21 per tube (all sizes).

As an alternative to our scattering tube, we offer a biodegradable urn for those families wishing to bury their pets. (Included in cremation fee.)

We also offer a wooden urn for families who prefer a more traditional keepsake. A personalized brass nameplate can be added if desired – this can take 2-4 days to customize and requests can be submitted to hrvethospice@gmail.com or to our cremation office at 757-705-7049. Urn style may vary depending on availability due to ongoing COVID-19 supply issues. (Included in the cremation fee.)

Keepsake Urns

Brass Heart Keepsake Urn (small amount of ashes) $63

This attractive Paw Print Heart is made of solid brass and comes with a small round threaded screw-on brass closure on the bottom for easy and safe installation of your pet’s ashes. This small urn is a ‘keepsake’ urn, meaning that it is designed to hold only a small portion of your pet’s ashes. Commonly used when multiple family members wish to share the cremains of their deceased pet. This keepsake holds about 4-5 cubic inches of ash (equal to 4-5lbs of a pet’s live weight). The attractive blue velvet display case is included with each heart purchased.

Teddy Bear Keepsake Urns $43

Pictured are the three Teddy Bear Keepsake Urn colors we offer (Brown, White and Tan). Each Bear has a Velcro opening in the bottom for the easy installation of your pet’s ashes (about 10 cubic inches of cremains). As a keepsake urn, you’re not able to install all of your pet’s ashes in one singular bear. A small red plastic heart-shaped container is included with each Bear for holding a small quantity of ashes while inside the urn. Each Bear is approx. 13″ left-to-right, 12″ tall and 9″ front-to-back.

These beautifully made Teddy Bear urns are the perfect urn for those individuals looking for a huggable memorial which they can display and remember with daily affection. This urn design is preferred by parents struggling with the challenge of lessening the pain and loss experienced by their small children and young adults. As a keepsake urn, many families divide their pet’s ashes amongst different family members and purchase multiple Teddy Bears.

Our Square Photo Urn is made from solid hardwood lumber and can be used to display your favorite horizontal pet photograph. The Photo Urn includes your personal inscription on a premium leaded brass nameplate centered below the photo holder. Pet’s ashes are installed through a removable bottom which is secured with screws, providing tamper resistant protection. A 3.5″ x 5.0″ or a 4″ x 6″ horizontal photo holder is included. Maple is the lightest shade, walnut is the darkest, oak is the third shade in the picture provided.

Our Tower Series Photo Urns are designed for the pet owner who wishes to display their favorite “vertical” photographs. Made of solid Cherry/Oak/Walnut the Tower Photo urn is a high quality urn worthy of your pet’s memory. Available in a small, medium, and large size depending on the size of your pet, this urn includes your personal inscription on a premium leaded brass nameplate (centered below the photo holder). Pet’s ashes are installed through removable bottom which is secured with screws, providing tamper resistant protection.

Note: The Small Urn comes automatically with a 2.5″ x 3.5″ vertical photo-holder, the Medium Urn comes with a 3.5″ x 5.0″ vertical photo-holder and the Large Urn comes with a 4.0″ x 6.0″ vertical photo-holder. You do not need to send the photograph. The photo-holder is attached magnetically and is easy to pop-off, slide in you favorite photograph, and re-attach to the urn. We use the magnet to allow slight adjustments in the positioning of the photo-holder to better fit your visual preferences.

Introducing the Integrity design of Earthurn biodegradable urns, featuring a unique assortment of sustainably crafted, handmade paper urns. They are the perfect greener alternative to plastic, tin, and wood containers. The durable and attractive Earthurns are produced from the bark of the mulberry tree using an ancient technique that allows the bark of the tree to be harvested without harming the tree. The finished textured paper is sun dried before being used to create the urns. This collection of urns is suitable for scattering, biodegradable burial, or the temporary storage of cremated remains. The Integrity Earthurns are offered in two colors, Floral and Neutral.

Back to Nature: The first biodegradable urn designed to convert ashes into a tree after life.

The top capsule of Bios Urn was built to facilitate the growth of the seed. Before burying the urn you have to mix the components with some soil from where you want to plant the urn. The components allow a proper seed germination.

Thanks to Bios Urn structure, the seed germinates in the top capsule, separated from the ashes. Once the urn starts to biodegrade seed roots are already strong enough to contact the ashes. With biodegradation the entire set becomes part of the sub-soil.

These sturdy corrugate coffins allow a dignified burial. Designed with convenient carrying handles that do not allow access to interior. Boxes are white with no printing or markings and can be decorated or left plain.

These caskets are crafted from a biodegradable paper which is handmade using a centuries-old technique. They are suitable for green burial and clean cremation. The bark from the mulberry tree is harvested, leaving the tree intact. It is then soaked, made into a pulp and spread out onto bamboo screens. Flower petals are inlaid before the screens are placed in the sun to dry. Each casket includes a simple, natural cotton interior that lines the base of the casket.
