Chet was absolutely my wife’s dog. He wouldn’t let her sit in her chair after dinner—he insisted she sit on the floor with him. The same went for his sitters. He never bothered me, except every time I put my shoes on. He’d come stick his head between my knees, making it impossible to tie my shoes. It took me a while to realize that was his way of giving hugs.
Although I can now tie my shoes whenever I want, I wish I couldn’t. He will be missed by everyone who knew him—Kate, John, Rachel, Sonia, Hilary, Hux, Pete, Bumble, and Mable, to name a few. We will always remember you, Chet.
