Originally from Southern California, Rue moved to North Carolina in 2017 and began working at Gates County Animal Clinic. From yard work to front desk management and much in between, the love for coworkers and clients alike grew to be a major part of life. Everything in between scheduling those first puppy visits, to making sure their last moments with us are filled with dignity and loving respect. Over the past nine years working in general practice, however, the passion for caring for pets and their people during those harder times became a focal point. It can be impossible not to love your patients and clients for who they are when you have the honor of helping them through thick and thin.
Still part-time at his cherished general practice, Rue now also proudly represents Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice and all they stand for on their mission to give our pets the quality end-of-life care they deserve. He hopes to be able to expand further, and one day be capable of being able to provide in-home and in-office counseling for families leading up to and during their companion’s passing, as well as be the one to honor their aftercare wishes.
Rue currently resides in Virginia with his very allergic and loving husband, Michael. Their crew at home consists of a great dane named Chai, an African house snake named Calavera, and their three cats, Kilter, Cabbage, and K-Cup.
