Emily Plock, Veterinarian

Dr. Emily grew up in a small town in Central Nebraska. From a very young age, she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian as she had a deep love and passion for helping animals. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2012 and then received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 from Iowa State University. After many family vacations and trips to Colorado, she always knew she wanted to end up near the mountains and moved to Denver after graduating veterinary school.
Dr. Emily always had a passion to help improve the quality of life for senior and geriatric pets and to provide a peaceful experience for pet’s making their final journey. She worked in small animal general practice for 2 years, but continually felt a pull to specialize in hospice and end of life care. It wasn’t until she had a heart-to-heart with one of her mentors and discovered the Caring Pathways family that she realized she was ready to make a career change. “I loved everything that Caring Pathways stood for, their story, their values, and their mission. It was an easy decision to join their family of like-minded and compassionate individuals.”
Dr. Emily is honored to now be serving on the Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice team in Virginia Beach!
While Dr. Emily currently does not have any fur babies of her own, she takes much pride in her role as the fun auntie to the many beloved pets belonging to her family and friends. In her free time, Dr. Emily loves to travel, hang out with friends, take care of her jungle of house plants, and spend as much time as she can outdoors camping, hiking, kayaking, and biking.
