Jack

Oct 3, 2025

We got Jack as a therapy dog for me as I had issues of passing out and he would warn those around that was something was wrong.  He also notified me that my wife had passed out due to a heart issue.  I ran the Naval Special Warfare Combat Swimmer Training Facility for 20 years after I retired from the Navy where we trained SF in all manner of water borne training. It was there that he became a therapy dog for many SEALS.  I took him to work every day.  The boys loved having him around.  They would return from war and come to my office and tell me ” I did not come and see you, I came to see Jack.”  They would sit on the floor and hold him.  They would chase him around the pool when he would run off with their towel or swim fins.

My wife was a mental therapist in the psych dept at NSW and she would often come and get him when she knew that a particularly emotional session was going to take place with one of the SEALs dealing with the horrors of war.  Jack seemed to instinctly know that they needed love and would put his head in their lap and get hugged on.  This week has been been full of phone calls, texts, emails, and visits with hugs for him, Teresa, and I.  He is more than just a dog to many.
