One of the hardest things I’ve had to do is make the decision to send my loving dogs over the rainbow. The next hardest thing is actually doing it. Having done this twice before at a vet’s office, I knew how cold and uncomfortable it is. Last April, I had a totally different experience when Dr. Christa Gilfeather and her team came to our home. In the most caring, loving and warm way, she guided my beautiful Redford and I through the process and sent him to his forever home in a more peaceful manner than I could imagine. On Monday, I was struck with having to make this trip again with my sweet Newman. How fortunate we were to once again be graced with Dr. Gilfeather. In her gentle way, she was able to help my daughter and I focus on Newman’s gifts that he gave us and laugh with us over his stories. It didn’t stop our tears or diminish our sadness, but it helped us let go and allow Newman to pass peacefully and with good thoughts in his last moments. Thank you Dr. Gilfeather for being who you are and choosing this as your contribution to us pet lovers.
